Community Work

We are making links with the older members of the community through the burns supper and by having quizzes with the Wednesday Club.

New Kitchen

Through connections in PYP the Pathhead Community Hall now has a new kitchen. The kitchen and dayroom were renovated in 2010 with a new kitchen and furniture donated by IKEA. All of the hall users were involved in installing the kitchen, especially Jackie and Ed McNairn and Gregory from PYP. More information can be found here.

The Pathhead Community Police won the Community Engagement Prize at the National  Community Safety Awards for their work with PYP and rennovating the kitchen. See here for info.

Burns Supper

Our third Burn’s Supper was enjoyed by senior citizens from Pathhead. They were entertained with tradition Burns entertainment by Children from the Primary School.  The young people from Pathhead Youth Project served the meal and made sure everyone was having a good time. It was great to see all the young people mingling with their guests.

Pathhead Youth Project started up a Junior Gymnastics Club for children aged 5-10 years at Tynewater  Primary  School on a Tuesday night. Ask for details of which session is for you.

This activity has proved to be very popular  and all children are rising to the challenges set by their coach Pamela Fletcher.  Both classes are full so a waiting list has been created.

Anyone who would like more information please speak to Jackie McNairn.

Easter Quiz

At Easter 2011, PYP hosted a Quiz for the "Wednesday Group". The young people helped serve teas and cakes and a great time was had by all.

See here for a thank you letter from the Wednesday Club
